Facebook + Psychometric Test

These are a series of standard Psychometric Test designed to measure various personality concepts and traits. For these instruments to be more accessible, we created several Facebook Apps for this project.

We are helping psychometricians around the world to gather data. Currently, this is done manually using paper survey forms then they tally the results.

Take home FINALS Exam. Total: 100 points - Submission is on Tuesday, April 14 (sorry guys no more extension).

Choose 1 Test below. Write your name beside your chosen test. Only 1 student per test.

1. Web App (45 points)

Create a PHP Form for your survey tests. Base your questionnaires on the test you chose above. It's listed under "Resource Files" (usually in .doc format).

Attach this text at the end of the survey form:

The Anexetastos Project. A collaborative work of the IS Students of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Taft Ave., Manila, Philippines.

By: (your name) (link to your blog) (date)

Mentors: Paul Pajo (ITETHICS) & David Quitoriano (WEBDEVT)

Sources and attribution:

http://www.giniscott.com/cnaemi.htm

Create a results page (results.php) Results page will process the answers and give the corresponding result based on the interpretation.

Each question has a weight (0 or 1 or 2 or 6) depending on the questionnaire. To compute the results you just have to ADD the value of each item. Refer to the CIDA Item file & CIDA Scoring file (open with Notepad)

There are question groupings. For example, Negative AEI NEG for questions 2, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19 if you get a value more than 25.

Note: 25 is an example only. Refer to your own chosen tests. Look at the CIDA Item file & CIDA Scoring file.

Example rating range:  0    1    2    3    4    5    6

Never = 0

Very rarely = 1

Rarely = 2

Occasionally = 3

Frequently = 4

Very Frequently = 5

Always = 6

Per question ADD the corresponding values based on the answers 6 + 4 + 5 + 6 .. + 2 = 31

So whoever is the highest value that's the rating profile of the user.

Note: The reverse scoring. Those with underline you need to reverse the scores. Instead of the scale 0 1 2 3 4... change the questionnaire form values to reverse 4 3 2 1 0.

For the savvy ones. You can open these files using SPSS Software package. But using Notepad should be easy to interpret.

2. Include amCharts Pie Chart in results.php (or any other charting option) to graph the user profile (15 points)

http://sixrevisions.com/flashactionscript/10-useful-flash-components-for-graphing-data/

3. Facebook App (20 points)

4. Get your app at least 30 users (20 points)

Bonus:

  • Add the ability to invite other fb friends (10 points)
  • Listed in the fb Apps Directory (10 points)
  • Create a fb Quiz Builder (20 points)

Enjoy!

Network Timeout - The server at litd.psch.uic.edu is taking too long to respond.

I can't grade this. This ain't your web app.

Pili nalang kayo nung may nakakuha na. I guess you were more than 48. Just put your name beside it.

@Nica

it's only the SUM of the score of all the questions.

"The CESD yields 1 total score. Description of the scale and item loadings are listed below. Scale scores are calculated as the sum of respective items. Underlined/bold items are reverse scored."

Dave Q said

Hi @Argel

"Sir panu ba gawin ung number2? walang weight or something?"

I googled http://lmgtfy.com/?q=scoring+schraw+%26+dennison+metacognitive+inventory

and found this http://minds.wisconsin.edu/bitstream/handle/1793/22945/WachsmuthSpr07.pdf?sequence=1

"If a participant strongly disagreed with the statement, they earned zero points; if a
participant strongly agreed with the statement, they earned four points. Therefore, a
greater sum implies more developed metacognitive skills."

So the result could be: Argel, your Metacognitive Score is 206. You are as knowledge aware as Einstein (put a CC pix of Albert here).

Or something like that. It's up to your imagination.

Sir DaveQ, I have question with regards to my work:
http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=65888708755

BFI is designed to measure the big five personality traits (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness).

For example, I got the highest percentage in the 'extraversion' trait. It doesn't mean it is the best trait that suits you.

According to my younger sister, which is studying on a psychology course, it defeats the purpose of just showing one trait well in fact the five traits should all be displayed.

What should I do?

30 respondents... those who answered the quiz. You also have to show the results of the whole group (30 or more) respondents.

@Argel hahaha

@Migz

Here's the scoring file http://dionysus.psych.wisc.edu/ID/DBQ/dbq_index.html

I *think* it's good to show the range. Something like a scale "Sober" to "Wasted" depending on your score. BAsed on the CIDA, it's the summation of the values per questionnaire.

@Ana post the link to your app when it's ready
